Ancora grande incertezza in Championship a una giornata dalla fine.
Facciamo i complimenti al QPR per come ha conquistato la salvezza quando fino a poco tempo fa sembrava in enorme difficoltà ma il 4-0 subìto dal Leeds inuna gara decisiva per la promozione, dopo una seconda parte di campionato esaltante, è decisamente inspiegabile 🤷‍♂️ .
Èandata grassa che l’Ipswich si è fatto rimontare nel finale dall’Hull ma a pari punti con una partita in meno è superfavorito per la promozione diretta, già raggiunta dal Leicester .
La vittoria per 3-0 col WBA lancia il Wednesday che due mesi fa, anche meno, pareva spacciato, verso la salvezza.
Il pari col Coventry invece inguaia i Rovers che hanno gli stessi punti dello Sheffield Wednesday ma l’ultima da giocare a Leicester.
Peccato per il Norwich che poteva chiudere la pratica e invece si è fatto bloccare dallo Swansea ma è ancora in ottima posizione per i playoff.

Per mantenere le distanze dagli Spurs, che hanno 6 punti e 2 partite in meno tra cui il derby con l’Arsenal (a proposito: genius ),




. . . per mantenere le distanze dagli Spurs, dicevo, il Villa ha l’imperativo di cercare di battere il Chelsea.
E non sarà facile perchè se è vero che i Blues con i Gunners ne hanno presi 5 mostrando molto poco, pochettino diciamo , per una squadra che ha speso quello che ha speso, è anche vero che venivano da 8 games unbeaten.
E col Villa hanno vinto 7 delle ultime 9, anche se hanno perso le ultime 2 e 3 vittorie di fila sarebbero un record.
Torna Douglas Luiz, Fuori Moreno e Zaniolo oltre ai lungodegenti.

Dopo la brutta gara col nostro Villa, e l’eliminazione in Champions, l’Arsenal di Arteta si riscatta, ne segna (con alcuni gol clamorosi) 5 al Chelsea di Pochettino (nomen omen ), che ne aveva fatte 6 all’Everton, che ne aveva fatte 2 al Liverpool (che al mercato mio padre comprò) e si porta in testa con una gara in più ma il City a sua volta ne fa 4 al Brighton ed essendo a meno 2 con una gara in meno ce l’ha in mano (il titolo)…..

Nel posticipo il Leeds ha battuto 4-3 il Boro al termine di una partita pirotecnica, con gol spettacolari.
Nei recuperi il Leicester ha spento le illusioni dei Saints e l’Hull quelle del Coventry, in crollo verticale nell’ultimo periodo, dopo un campionato esaltante comunque.
Si consolida quindi la posizione play off dei Canaries 💛 💚 .



Crysencio Sommerville è il giocatore del Leeds più giovane ad avere raggiunto i 20 gol in stagione dai tempi di Bridges nel 99-2000.

Padova di conserva ma in questo periodo ci sta, a classifica acquisita l’importante è tenere i giocatori allenati e pronti per i play off che si giocheranno tra un bel pò, turnandoli ed evitando infortuni e sovraccarichi di lavoro.

In attesa di Leeds Boro il Leicester vince e si riporta in testa mentre il Norwich purtroppo getta via 2 punti col Bristol.

Il QPR batte il Preston ed è a+ 6 dalla zona retrocessione, mentre il Blackburn perde in casa col Wednesday. Mi dispiace per i Rovers, di cui sono un simpatizzante dal 1995, e spero che non restino invischiati nella lotta salvezza dopol’errore di avere lasciato andare il manager JDT che stava facendo il massimo (forse qualcuno si era illuso e ingolosito), e si sono anche fatti da soli un gol comico , ma sono contento per il Wednesday che per la prima volta dell’arrivo dell’allenatore tedesco 33enne (record di gioventùper un manager in E L) Danny Rohl, subentrato allo spagnolo Xisco Munoz che aveva firmato un inizio disastroso, il peggioredella storia delle 🦉, con 3 punti in 11 partite , si trovano sopra la linea della retrocessione al termine di una fantastica rincorsa. Sono Windass, con i gol, e il nostro ex Barry Bannan, con gli assist, gli eroi.

Partita da vincere assolutamente per tenere vivo il sogno ma da non sottovalutare perché il bilancio delle 7 partite in Premier con le Cherries è negativo dato che vede solo 2 vittorie del Villa anche se quella dell’anno scorso è stata netta, e poi anche all’andata abbiamo fatto molta fatica per strappare un pareggio.
Adelante Villa, ma con juicio.

Non mi aspettavo (schierando la formazione migliore a parte Zaniolo) di prendere due gol e di segnare solo all’ 87 con Matty Cash e poi di qualificarci grazie alle parate del mitico Dibu (del tutto ingiusta la sua squalifica per aver preso un po’ per il culo questo cazzo di francesi che lo hanno insultato per tutta la partita, ma rientra in quel perbenismo ipocrita che caratterizza il calcio di oggi) contro una squadra di Ligue 1, vista la differenza fra il campionato inglese e quello francese, PSG a parte.












Ma del resto questa competizione serve per l’appunto a far acquisire ai boys in claret and blue un po’ di esperienza europea, dove comunque si gioca un calcio diverso nonostante l’altissimo livello della Premier, e naturalmente consentire ai nostri amici inglesi, e anche a quelli italiani, di girare per l’Europa a seguito del Villa.
